Root canals are typically used when the pulp of a tooth has become infected, and the only way to be certain whether or not you need the procedure is to visit Dr. Mobley for an oral exam. However, there are symptoms you may experience that could indicate a root canal is needed, including the following:
It’s important to remember that you may also need a root canal without experiencing any symptoms whatsoever, which is why it is even more important to attend your routine exam, cleaning and x-rays with Dr.Mobley.
After administering dental sedation to the patient, Dr. Mobley begins the procedure by removing the infected pulp and nerves inside the tooth. After that, she thoroughly cleans the tooth and seals it off. The root canal procedure is typically painless and is completed in one appointment. In many cases, she also places a crown over the affected tooth to further protect it.
